Saari Drums – handmade custom drums from Finland

Over four decades ago Hannu Saari started his career as a carpenter and soon after began playing drums. Over the years he noticed that the drums he played were not exactly what he wanted in sound or appearance.

He began experimenting with different wood materials and creating his own tools to turn wood into drums. Today, almost two decades after the first demo models, drummers around the world can enjoy the unique sound and look of Saari Drums.

Saari Drums continue to evolve through Hannu’s innovations and feedback from the global drumming community.

With the optimal choice of material, size and depth, Saari snare drums deliver the sound you desire. The shells are made from 3-ply birch with a thickness of 3.6mm.

You can choose natural birch or thermally modified birch. Thermally modified birch provides deeper low-end without sacrificing clarity or sustain.
